Jasmine Leaf

Jasmine leaf wants to cling to
Jasmine tree,
But then, the time goes,
and the wind blows --

Once, there was a pretty Jasmine Tree,
That sheltered me in the forest.
It protected me from all harm.

I felt the wind on my cheek,
Adventure danced down my spine,
I twisted and turned away from home!

Jasmine leaf wants to cling to
Jasmine tree,
But then, the wind blows,
and the time flows.

I pulled away from the warmth
That whispered as it held me:
"It's cruel out there, won't you stay?"
But visions beckoned of distant lights --
If I could just fly there!
And the winds came -- and I could!

Jasmine leaf wants to cling to Jasmine Tree,
But now the wind blows,
And the time goes.

I dropped off into the stream,
I danced at the center of the light,
Over and under my partner, the wind!
I thought ecstasy would never end.
But I fell -- just like the others.

Jasmine leaf wants to cling to
Jasmine tree;
But then, the time goes,
and the wind blows!
